The job description of a food defence coordinator seems fairly simple on paper but if you make one mistake, you compromise the lives of millions of consumers. There have been so many cases of food safety inspectors or food defense coordinators losing their jobs due to a lapse in concentration. While such mistakes occur, the reality is that they should never happen. How can you as a food defense coordinator prevent such scandals from occurring? Food defense coordinator is a is a two day conference and it starts on the 15th of May and ends on the 16th of May of this year. This conference is organised by the American Institute of Baking now known as AIB International. AIB international was founded in the year 1919 and is popularly known for their motto “put science to work for the bakerâ€. They are an information and technology transfer center for bakers and food processors and they organise food defense coordinator conferences every month. As a food defense coordinator, you can be certified by AIB if you pass their online certification exam.Food Defense Awareness Training
This conference wants to help you in your quest of controlling food adulteration that comes to your food plant by providing you with the toolkit and the instructions to use them. The course content relates directly to the FDA’s new Food Safety Modernisation Act(FSMA) regulations, customer requirements and Global Food Safety Initiative(GFSI) certification standards. The aim of this conference is to teach you to design comprehensive food defense plans that meet the standards mentioned above. This course is designed for anyone who has an interest or is required to manage or develop the food defense program of a facility or corporation. By the end of this conference you will be able to develop your own vulnerability assessment reports for your facility. You will also be able to address identified actionable steps by choosing the right mitigation strategy, establish a multidisciplinary food team to develop your food defense program, establish mitigation strategies that relate to food defense monitoring, corrective actions and verification activities. You will be enabled to implement employee food defense training programs that meet the required standards and submit records that focus on FDA and GFSI requirements. IACET or the International Association for Continuing Education and Training is a non-profit organisation and is the only standard-setting organisation approved by the American Nationals Standards Institute for continuing education and training.
